We haven't got a design agency based in the centre of Newcastle.  It's not in the nearby cities of Sunderland or Durham.  We're based in North Leeds (2hrs drive down the road from Newcastle).

However, Jukebox Marketing operated from Newcastle for the first 4 years of our existence, so we're always looking for an excuse to pop back up there to meet a new client.

Newcastle Upon Tyne (or Newcastle as it's typically known) is centred around the northern side of the River Tyne.  The name 'Newcastle' come from the castle built in 1080, by Robert II (Duke of Normandy) who was the eldest son of William the Conqueror.  Like Leeds, Newcastle grew from the wool trade.  It was also an important coal mining town with many smaller surrounding towns supporting the mining industry.

Newcastle now has a diverse culture.  With iconic architecture and bridges, it attracts a large number of tourists each year.  Newcastle is well known for its night life which is fed by the locals (known as 'geordies') and a strong student population from Newcastle University and the University of Northumbria at Newcastle.

Each year, Newcastle hosts The Great North Run - a half marathon from the centre of Newcastle to South Shields.  Our boss Antony Vila goes back there every year and runs the Great North Run dressed from head to foot in black lycra as 'The Black Spiderman'.  At 6'7" tall, he's one to watch out for!
